Details

At Croft Organics we are committed to doing as much as we can to help protect our environment.   We are committed to providing good quality self-catering accommodation whilst reducing the impact of our business activities on the environment.

In order to achieve this we are in conversion to full organic status with the Soil Association and we are working hard to achieve an award under the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

We provide detailed information to guests on how we use renewable energy and they have the opportunity whilst holidaying with us to experience renewable wind technology in operation first hand.

We provide detailed information to guests on how we actively recycle on the croft and on how they can contribute to this process.  We can provide them with fresh organic produce grown only metres from their doorstep.  We have information on local transport and on the many ‘carbon-lite’ activities that they can enjoy on Skye.

Accommodation

  • Sleeps 4 + 1
  • 1 double room downstairs and 1 twin room upstairs - both with ensuite shower rooms
  • Futon style sofa bed in upstairs lounge for one extra person
  • Facilities

    Laundry

The washing machine is located in the utility room at the end of the building.   It is a Miele AAA rated appliance.   Please use the Ecover laundry liquid that will be on the shelf.   We do not have a tumble drier so please make use of the rotating line drier on the lawn.   Pegs are in the laundry room.   If it is very wet you can use the pulley that is above your head in the laundry - with the windy boy controls in there it gets quite warm and most things should dry overnight.   The pulley is also great for drying wet walking gear!   Please ask if you would like to make use of an iron or ironing board.

    Books and Leaflets

    • Upstairs in the flat there is a bookshelf full of paperbacks which you are very welcome to use whilst you are here
    • There is a small selection of DVDs
    • There are some back copies of various ‘green’ periodicals for general browsing
    • There are local interest books
    • There are a variety of ‘nature’ books also - bird books, wildflower books, etc.
    • If you get really engrossed in a book and don’t manage to finish it have a chat with us and we can either do a swap or negotiate a return
    • There are lots of leaflets, and you may well pick up more, please make use of those that are there and leave anything that you think may be of interest to future guests - Thank-you

    Camping

We have a field suitable for camping - the views across the loch are lovely.  There is a single toilet and shower on site, we can supply you with a tent if you need one and there are electric hook ups available.

Unfortunately the drive is rather steep for towing caravans but small camper vans will be fine accessing the site.   Please email or ring us if you would like to make an arrangement to camp.
