Within 5 miles of the Skye Bridge the cottage is quickly accessed from the mainland, providing an ideal base to explore the Isle of Skye and the Lochalsh area including Plockton, Applecross, Loch Carron and Eilean Donan Castle. The island and surrounding area offer a wide range of activities to suit many outdoor enthusiasts including cycling, kayaking, walking, fishing, sailing, nature watching and of course the Cuillin mountain range offers an array of challenging peaks for climbing enthusiasts in summer and winter. The Cottage accommodation provides one double bedroom, one triple family room and one small single room. The lounge with open fire has a cosy feel, a dining room with wood-burning stove and large dining table, a fully appointed kitchen with a sea view and a bathroom with bath / electric shower and under-floor heating. Whether you want to explore the area or curl up with a book in front of an open fire, Bayhead Cottage offers a modern and idyllic home for your stay.

Accommodation

Upon entering the cottage through a bright and airy porch the inner accommodation is accessed by traditional double doors. With slate flooring throughout the ground floor the Cottage has a contemporary feel yet many of the traditional features have been retained. The house has a cosy lounge with comfortable seating and an open fire. Flat screen TV, DVD player, Sky free-to-view, a small collection of films and music system ensures that there are plenty alternatives to the board games provided whatever the weather. The Dining Room features a wood-burning stove set within a large traditional fireplace which really is the heart of the room. The room also boasts a large ammonite fossil set within the original cottage stonework. As well as a large dining table there is an armchair within the room and a well-stocked bookshelf and reading light for those who want to seek a quiet corner to catch up on some reading. Accessed from the dining room, the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, touch-control ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and under-counter fridge and freezer. The cupboards are well stocked with glasses, crockery and cooking equipment. An ironing board, iron, clothes pegs and vacuum cleaner are also provided to assist your stay. Stunning views can be seen from the kitchen side door which gives access to the garden and picnic table, perfect for al fresco dining. The bright and airy bathroom boasts a large bath with over-bath shower and a curved glass shower-screen. The bathroom has under-floor heating beneath ceramic tiles and is supplemented by an electric towel rail.

Facilities

The upper floor of the cottage is accessed by a quaint staircase framed by original wood panelling and is floored in solid pine boards throughout. The upper hall provides storage for luggage as well as hanging space for clothes. To the rear of the cottage there is a small bright single room with a queen-size bed which would suit adults or children. The double room has a window to the front of the property overlooking the garden and bay. The room has a warm feel with a pine shaker bed and matching furniture. The triple room, also with a window to the front of the property, has a light contemporary feel and is fitted with a double and single bed to accommodate three. This is ideal to be used as a small family room.
